

We are a primary water resource agency. We are also a water wholesaler and flood protection agency and are the steward for streams and creeks, underground aquifers and district-built reservoirs.
Our stream stewardship responsibilities include creek restoration and wildlife habitat projects, pollution prevention efforts and a commitment to natural flood protection.
We have an opening and need for a team-oriented Accountant I position. To provide critically needed support in the Grants and Reimbursement Claims Section supporting the Sr. Accountant with processing grant and reimbursement claims, billing and monitoring claims collections, account reconciliations and preparing journal entry adjustments. Performing accounting tasks and problem resolution in assigned areas.
The minimum qualifications that must be met:
Experience
One year of professional accounting experience is desirable.
Training
- Equivalent to a Bachelors degree from an accredited college or university with major course work in accounting or a related field.
- Directly related experience may be substituted for the college requirement on the basis of one and one-half years of experience for one year of education to a maximum of four years.
License or Certificate
Possession of, or ability to obtain, an appropriate, valid California driver’s license may be required with determinations made on a case by case basis at the time of job posting.
DUTIES:

All timely recording of financial transactions in the general ledger in accordance with generally accepted accounting principles.
•
Analyzing account transactions, preparing account reconciliations, resolving reconciling items utilizing thinking and problem solving skills, and preparing accounting statements and reports.
•
Work independently and with the staff.

Hours: Part-Time - 36 hours every two weeks
